Two weeks ago I went on a detox. I’d been at the end of my tether for a while. I had become a menopause flushed, worn down, multi-tasking carer: a bad case of the blues, snappy, edgy, demotivated, exhausted and desperate for a good night’s sleep.
My mum kept hinting that I should watch the Superfoods programme on tv, she passed me the free ‘rejuvenation’ diet magazines from her Saturday paper. In response I lurched from snapping back at her, to nodding and grunting “mhm” absent-mindedly as my foggy mind raced through a jumbled list of things to do.
Finally, my mum put her foot down and told me to sort myself out.
I contacted Vivienne Talsmat.
If you don’t know about Vivienne, then Google her
….NO! WAIT…not now!
Wait until you’ve read my review of her detox smoothies – detox miracles.
I’m not going to keep you in suspense, I won’t save my opinion until the end. This is going to be an amazingly positive review. Since I started drinking these smoothies my detox food plan has been boosted. I’m completely transformed. I got on the tube today and as I stood there I realised that this is how normal people feel: I don’t mind standing, I feel bright, my mind is clear, I still haven’t started exercising but I am full of energy and vim. I’m not having an extended hot flush with a beetroot face and frizzy hair. I feel young and vital.
Rejuva|Detox
Powerfully Cleansing Green Detox Miracle Smoothie
What on earth is this?
The look.
The Rejuva Detox is a tub containing a very dark green powder. The sort of green powder that I have bought in the past, made smoothies out of and gagged on the bitter green mud that came out of my blender. And promptly binned it.
- Anti-oxidant rich super foods to detox the body
- Green, Raw and Vegan
- Alkalising and rejuvenating for body and mind
- Two month supply or one month family tub
Rejuva|Detox combines the properties of 17-23 highly nutritious vegan superfoods … in a unique blend that detoxes, supports your overall health and enhances your vitality.
….so what does all that mean?
The formulation.
Vivienne has combined her knowledge of nutrition and nutrients and used her deep understanding of what people want from their bodies, their lives and their taste buds to formulate the Rejuva Detox. I chose the berry flavour as that’s right up my street and as a newbie to all this superfood stuff I suspiciously Googled the rest of the ingredients:
Rejuva|Detox is a unique blend of 17+ superfoods, purposedly formulated by celebrity nutritionist and longevity expert Vivienne Talsmat to balance macro and micro nutrients and synergistically enhance cellular detox, providing you with all your daily nutritional needs:

The Smoothie. Yum!
I used the Rejuva|Detox as part of a Vivienne’s detox eating plan. Basically, the plan is to eat as much fruit in the morning and vegetables in the afternoon until I can’t fit any more food in. Then a lovely evening meal, at whatever time fits in with my lifestyle. Thanks to Vivienne’s approach to detox I haven’t missed gluten, dairy, coffee, tea or even my gin and tonic at all, but I have found that since my first smoothie I have developed a craving for Rejuva Detox smoothies! Wierd.
The Rejuva Detox comes in three flavours: Chocolate, Vanilla and Berry. I’m a berry person, definitely, and that’s what I purchased. I’ve been doing my detox with Vivienne so I was lucky to have her make make me a smoothie at the end of each visit to her. I’m going to show you how she makes them up and makes a smoothie into a detox miracle smoothie.
To make up your smoothie mix coconut water or rice milk, a measuring spoon of Rejuva Detox, an avocado, some fruit and to sweeten it all up a date or a couple of prunes. Blend and serve. Easy, straightforward, delicious – yup, all that green gloop is delicious.
Add chopped fruit: plum, peach, avocado and a prune for natural sweetness.
Variations that Vivienne has made for me:
The Mo smoothie: Avocado, ice cubes, a fresh date
The Jola smoothie: Avocado, peach, plum, blueberries, a prune
and
Avocado, banana, strawberry, blueberries, a prune
(There are more recipes on her website)
The next step is that Vivienne turns your smoothie into an experience, one measure of the powder plus the fruit and rice milk its enough for two portions. She pours each portion into a beautiful glass dessert bowl. I watch her sprinkling and decorating each bowl with superfood nibbles and spices and it gets my digestive juices ready.
Vivienne then serves this delightful looking smoothie with a teaspoon. No gobbling, no slurping, no dashing around. I have found that it’s a mindful way of eating and one that gives my brain long enough to tell my stomach its nourished, happy and full.
Some of the toppings I’ve tried and loved:
Chia, blue berries, cinnamon.
Cinnamon, slices of fig and goji berries.
Cocoa nibs, banana slices, milled nuts, seeds and berries.
Blueberries and blackberries.
Smoothie on the Go.
I have made a big deal about how to serve the Rejuva Detox smoothies in a mindful way and that approach has really helped me to calm down and relax at mealtimes. But there are times when you have to be on the go. I’ve been making the smoothies at breakfast time ( I’ve already admitted I have developed a craving for them). It’s two portions so when I know I’m going to be out and about, I pour the second half into my sports bottle and drink my smoothie around lunchtime. It’s stopped any cravings for ‘naughty foods.’ Phew.

I have gained extra Brownie points from Vivienne – my sports bottle is glass with a silicone sleeve. (This picture is from my post about juicing).
The Biggest Shift…
I’ve lost 10lb on the scales and 2 inches from most places. And it’s only week 2.
